Temperament, Character and Personality
To truly understand a horse, it is useful to distinguish three levels: Temperament (innate biological basis), Character (built through experiences and learning) and Personality (the result of the interaction between genetics and environment).
Personality is not something fixed: it is a dynamic combination. What we do with horses makes a difference. Our test is not designed as a tool to "label", but as a path of awareness to observe better, reduce distortions and recognise what depends on us.
Our test is based on a series of standardised behavioural tests, designed to observe the horse in specific, controlled situations, minimising the influence of human judgment.
The six profiles

Intense, fast in responding to stimuli and constantly oriented towards what happens in the environment.
Horse characterised by high sensory and perceptual sensitivity to environmental changes.
Has a strong exploratory motivation and shows interest in new people, objects and contexts.
Characterised by good ability to maintain concentration and task focus.
Characterised by good behavioural stability, arousal regulation and predictable response.
Characterised by good relational affinity with people and other horses.
How it works

At the end of the test, each horse is assigned one main personality profile.
That profile represents the behavioural tendency that emerges most clearly through the questionnaire, offering a simple and structured starting point to better understand the horse's character.
The result is not a combination of multiple personalities. Each horse receives a single, clear profile — the one that best reflects their natural behavioural tendency.
